The Story of Copper Clay

Our gorgeous Copper Clay pottery collection features a glossy burnt sienna glaze. This earthy glaze is reminiscent of the red clay soil found in Central Virginia.

Material: High-fire stoneware clay with lead-safe glaze

Made in: Bedford, Virginia

Care

Dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe up to 450°F. Avoid sudden temperature changes.

Hand-painted designs hold their color for decades with normal use. For deep tea or coffee stains, a paste of baking soda and water will lift them without scratching the glaze.

    This was the third purchase of the Red Poppy latte mug over multiple years. The first mug was beautifully painted and had artwork from almost the top to the bottom. The second mug was nicely painted; however, the artwork was started from almost the middle of the mug down to the bottom. The third mug was also painted from the middle down and any leaves had been totally eliminated. The third mug didn’t match what was advertised in the photo.

    I know items are handmade but stain has too many light spots on one cup. Also 1 cup has smooth glaze, other mug has a rougher glaze. Your pottery as a whole needs a little more time spent on the quality. Your potters need a little more time for items or a little more pride. Very happy you are a made in America company! I do not and will not use dishes or drinkware made in China.
