Designed especially for temperamental African violets, our bottom-watering African Violet Pots use a unique two-piece system. The inner pot is left half-glazed and fired at a lower temperature, allowing your plants to “drink” water from the outer pot. Hand-painted, botanically influenced designs match your violets, and solid glazes direct all of the attention to them.

Care

Dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe up to 450°F. Avoid sudden temperature changes.

Hand-painted designs hold their color for decades with normal use. For deep tea or coffee stains, a paste of baking soda and water will lift them without scratching the glaze.

    Update to previous review: I increased my rating due to courteous and responsive customer service. It was explained to me that the colors of the two pieces were different because they had to be fired at different temperatures (so that the inner pot remained porous) so Emerson sent me a different outer pot with a flower pattern – not something I would have chosen but I appreciate their effort. I suggested that they change the photo and/or description for this pot since it sets up the expectation that the two pieces would match but that has not been done. I do like the quality of the pottery.

    “Bought as a gift and it was hard to give it away!” This is beautiful. I was surprised there was no hole in the bottom of the inner pot, but it can wick water through the sides. I hope this prevents overwatering. Now I am going to order one for me. So pretty!
